AN accident on the Sir David Rose Avenue Public Road in Mackenzie, Linden on Saturday, resulted in the death of 29-year-old Adriel Drakes of Blue Berry Hill, Wismar.
Police Headquarters, in a statement, noted that a car, driven by 68-year-old Clifton Cadogan, a pensioner of Blue Berry Hill, was proceeding north on the western side of the road, when Drakes, who was proceeding in the opposite direction, lost control of his motorcycle while negotiating a left bend.
Police said Drakes was riding at a fast rate of speed and collided with the right side front of the car; he fell on the road’s surface and received injuries about his body.
Drakes was picked up by public spirited citizens in an unconscious state and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex; he died while receiving treatment. The vehicles were lodged and the driver of the car is in custody assisting with investigations.
