TRIBHANGA – Tedhi Medhi Crazy, which releases today on Netflix, is bringing together several powerhouse actresses including the gorgeous and successful Kajol, who holds the highest number of wins at the esteemed Filmfare Awards.
Apart from the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress, the film stars Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar in leading roles, along with Kunaal Roy Kapur. It is produced by Ajay Devgn FFilms, Banijay Group Asia and Alchemy Films.
Written and directed by Renuka Shahane, the film speaks to a self-made single mom who grapples with regret and resentment while reflecting on the strained relationship she shares with her estranged mother.

The film also explores three generations of women who each makes unique choices in life that may not necessarily go down well with others. However, it doesn’t stop them from loving and caring for each other deep within their hearts.
The cast of Netflix India’s Tribhanga, Kajol and Azmi, along with Shahane, spoke about the film on “Spill the Tea” with Sneha Menon Desai of Film Companion.
They spoke about the filmmaking process, emotions they found hard to portray on screen and what the pandemic taught them about relationships.
“I loved the script the first time I heard it. Every time I’ve heard this script, I told her (Shahane) ‘Oh My God!’ I’ve got tears in my eyes. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve felt each and every part of the script,” Kajol expressed during the interview.

Kajol, who also featured in other Hindi blockbuster movies like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Fanaa, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and others, is known to be quite picky about her films and is on the record for refusing major roles that turned out to be hugely successful movies.
“I wanted to do this film the first time I heard the script and I didn’t change my mind to the first time of shooting. We had a blast,” she said, adding that she struggled with having to act shy.
Shahane, in the same interview, offered that the characters in this film have never been seen before on the big screen. “It’s very difficult to come up with something unique,” she said, noting that she spent three years on this script.

She said she is grateful to have on board women who are all experienced in the industry and good at what they do. “These powerhouse performers – they bring in such a big pool of talent…Women power on screen.”
Speaking about the roles of the characters, Azmi added: “Everyone has their unique ways, but don’t take them at face value. There is much more to these people. Don’t think this woman, just because she can’t get along with her husband and mother-in-law and walked out; that makes her a bad woman, because there are other things to her.”
She said real emotions come out and that the film proves that even though people may have certain negative traits, there is still a lot of good in them.
