POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who reportedly shot himself in the head with a 9mm Glock pistol in the wee hours of Christmas Day on Robb Street, Georgetown. A police report noted that the incident occurred around 03:30hrs. The victim is only known as “Tricksie”; police found him lying motionless on his back, in a pool of blood, with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his temple area. He was clad in a white jersey and a dark coloured three quarter pants. About 12 inches from his right shoulder, a 9mm Glock pistol was found with a 9mm ammunition in the breach while a 9mm spent shell was also found at the scene. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. The body is presently lying at the said hospital’s mortuary waiting to be identified and for a post-mortem examination. According to the police report, CCTV footage from a nearby grocery store captured when the man shot himself. Investigations are ongoing.
