KEVIN PERSAUD, 31, of Bushlot, Essequibo Coast, is currently a patient in the male surgical ward of the Suddie Public Hospital nursing injuries to the head, after he was involved in a serious accident, Wednesday night, on the Reliance Public Road.

The accident reportedly occurred around 18:00 hours. Persaud was riding a black and pink 125 Elite motorcycle at the time of the accident.

According to information reaching Guyana Chronicle, motor car, PNN 8257, was proceeding north along the western side of the Reliance Public Road while motorcycle CH 2737 was proceeding south along the eastern side when the vehicles collided. The motorcyclist was said to be speeding.

During the collision, Persaud desperately tried to apply brakes to avoid the collision, but, despite that, he collided with the motorcar. The motorcyclist fell to the ground where he received severe injuries to his head and body.

Residents heard the loud impact and immediately rushed to the scene where they assisted Persaud. He was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital in an unconscious state. He has regained consciousness and is in a ward at the hospital.

Traffic officers are investigating the accident. The 48-year-old driver of the motorcar is currently in police custody.
