Missing: Radesh Baljit

A woman is seeking help from the public to locate her brother who has been missing since Saturday. Missing is Radesh Baljit, who is mute and has hearing impairment.

Nalini Budhu, of Lot 73 Section A, Number 59 Village, related that her brother, Radesh Baljit, 51, was involved in an accident about a month and a half ago in Corriverton, region Six.

Due to the accident, he suffered injuries to the head and foot and was unable to walk for some time or do anything for himself.

Budhu explained that after Baljit was discharged from the hospital, another sister took care of him before she took over from her sister.

However, on Saturday last, she left home to run an errand and when she returned, her brother was nowhere to be found.

She asked around and was told he was seen on the road heading in a westerly direction.
The sister is worried since her brother is still not fully recovered and cannot walk properly and he may be in discomfort and in need of assistance.

As such, she is appealing to anyone who sees him to immediately contact the family.

Meanwhile, Budhu told this newspaper that she went to the Number 51 Police Station to lodge a missing person’s report at the Number 51 Police Station but was told by cops there to search more and only then they will take a report.

She said she went to the police on Sunday and again pleaded for help.

“The police was very rude to me and said that’s not their job, that I should go look for my brother myself and when I find him, I should report to them. All they could do is tell another station,” the disappointed sister related.

Previously, Baljit worked as a labourer at the Skeldon Market. Several search exercises were conducted in the area and surrounding communities to locate the missing man but to no avail.

“If anyone see him, please, he is not normal. He deh out there without food, water or shelter.
Please contact us, we will go get him. He not too well mentally, he got hit to the head and is nervy and would trip sometimes,” the sister said.

Anyone with information can contact the family on telephone numbers 338-1371 or 653-9328.
