Health Ministry launches jingle competition for mental health awareness

IN an effort to equip adolescents with much-needed information on mental health issues, the Ministry of Health has announced the launch of a jingle competition.
The Adolescent Health Unit teamed up with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to organise the event and the agencies are inviting youths from all parts of the country to enter.
The competition is a part of the ‘Rise Up Challenge’ which is geared towards ensuring that young people across Guyana are equipped with the information needed to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

The jingle must have as its topic mental health, and it is opened to adolescents between the ages of 10 and 19.
According to the entry guidelines, the jingle must be an original composition, must include the phrase “Rise up to the Challenge,” and must be between 30 to 60 seconds long.
Those entering are required to record the jingle in MP3 format, submit a copy along with the lyrics to adolescenthealth.moph@gmail.com or on the ministry’s Facebook messenger AdolescentHealthProgramme. The entrant’s profile must also be submitted.
The deadline for submission is October 30, 2020.
