LOCAL singer/songwriter Tiffani Bonner will soon be releasing her first Reggae song with a title that she is still to decide on.
The lyrics were drawn from inspiration she received during a four-year relationship that ended recently.
The 22-year-old, who is also a model, entrepreneur and painter, said the break-up has been hard on her, but that she has learnt to embrace all of the feelings associated with it and is pressing on.

“You have to accept the feelings and emotions that come with love, whether it’s good or bad, happy or sad, because it’s a roller coaster and you have to go with the vibe and try your best.”
In the song, Bonner said she chose to focus on the good times in the relationship. “The song expresses that sometimes love, we really don’t know what can happen; we go all in without knowing what to expect. And sometimes your heart gets broken and that’s ok but you just gotta keep going and keep your head up high; just continue to be you and have faith in God that it’s going to work out.”

EXPRESS YOURSELF
She especially loves the entertainment field because it allows her to express her thoughts and feelings.

Bonner has managed to cop two pageant titles so far.

“I find this is the most expressive field of work. You can be yourself without sometimes people actually knowing that that’s what you’re doing. Writing music, for example, you can write a song and people would never know if it’s about you or not. I think that’s the beauty of this industry.”
Bonner has been singing and modelling for as long as she can remember and has videos from since she was seven. “I absolutely love music. Music is my dream, music is my goal. Anything in the arts basically; that’s me!”

She has won the titles of the ‘Miss Summer Blaze 2012’ and ‘Miss Guyana Talented Teen pageants. “The first one boosted my confidence and made me enter the second competition. I copped both titles, and I was a quarter finalist for the Miss World 2020, which was postponed due to COVID-19. That was a lovely experience and I would do it all over again if I can. I hope the world gets better soon and we can heal from this.”

Bonner has observed that Guyana has lots of talent and that Guyanese should be more supportive. “I hope people will come around and be more appreciative of what we have right here in our country and just push our own people.”

She plans to pursue studies in Social Psychology next year.
