EU keen on building strong partnership with Guyana

AMBASSADOR of the EU to Guyana, Fernando Ponz Cantó, and Public Works Minister, Bishop Juan Edghill, on Wednesday, discussed matters on the partnership between the EU and Guyana, as it relates to the Ministry of Public Works.

The discussion was held during a courtesy call by the ambassador.

Minister Edghill thanked the EU for its assistance over the years, and expressed particular interest in the need for EU’s expertise and technology, as well as EU’s business presence in infrastructural works.

Ambassador Ponz Cantó explained that the EU Delegation is working to increase European business interest and presence in Guyana, while reiterating that the EU is keen to continue and further develop its strong partnership and cooperation with Guyana.

Ambassador Ponz Cantó also congratulated the minister on his appointment and wished him a successful tenure.
