Man stabbed after complaining about noise nuisance

BUS driver, Gordon Sam, was repeatedly stabbed and is in a critical condition at the New Amsterdam Hospital after he complained about continuous loud music, which disturbed his family from sleeping at his Sister’s Village, East Bank Berbice residence on Tuesday.

According to an eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, a party was held at the home of the Ramkarrans, at Back street, Sisters Village, and the director of music was an off-duty policeman.

Scores of persons reportedly attended the event which started on Tuesday afternoon and continued until the early hours of Wednesday morning.
As result of the continuous noise, the victim left his home at 01:30 hours, went over to his neighbour, to warn them of the noise.
However, the patrons became annoyed and a heated exchange of words began which graduated into a fight. During the fight, Sam was repeatedly stabbed about the body. He was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was admitted at a patient.
Police are investigating the incident.
