Ian Craddock, a popular tour operator who moved from the United Kingdom to Lethem many years ago, was found dead on Monday afternoon close to the airstrip in the border town.
Reports are that the man may have suffered a heart attack.Other reports are that the man may have suffered a snake bite.According to a neighbour, the man was found unresponsive aback the Lethem airstrip on Monday afternoon. A post-mortem is expected to be performed later this week.
Craddock runs the Bushmasters tour company which runs tours in the Rupununi. He is an ex-British military officer who made the Rupununi his home several years ago.
