POLICE, on Wednesday, arrested four persons during separate searches at Ituni and Mabaruma, for possession and trafficking of narcotics.
In a release, police said acting on information received, ranks intercepted a motorcar at 31 miles, Ituni Road. The vehicle was searched and 61parcels of suspected cannabis, which amounted to 9,071kg, were found concealed in the panel of the doors and also in a spare wheel. Two males are in custody. Also on Wednesday about 21:00hrs, acting on information received, ranks went to a shop at Kumaka Water Front, Mabaruma, North West District and conducted a search. During the search, 139 grammes of suspected cannabis were unearthed. The male owner of the business and a female vendor are in custody pending charges.
