Cops destroy thousands of ganja plants

POLICE, on Monday, destroyed thousands of marijuana plants, during an operation at Bartica Village, Berbice River.
In a release, police said ranks conducted the narcotics eradication exercise at Bartica Village, Berbice River, during which approximately two and a half acres of cannabis cultivation, with over eleven thousand plants, and a camp, were found, photographed and destroyed by fire. The prohibited plants which had a street value of more than twenty million dollars were between two and seven feet in height.
