…authorities confirm another Coronavirus-related fatality 

The total number of persons who have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Guyana has climbed to 137.

According to the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), of 32 samples tested, two more persons have tested positive for the virus within the past 24 hours.Minister of Public Health, Volda Lawrence noted in a briefing that one more person has died from COVID-19 complications.

The Guyana Chronicle reported earlier today that samples taken from a Moruca man, who died on Friday night at the North West District area, tested positive for the virus.His passing carried the number of deaths attributed to the virus in Guyana, to 11.

Minister Lawrence said that 1, 489 persons have been tested to date, with the total number of negative cases being 1, 352. To date 62 persons have recovered while there are 64 active cases in institutional isolation.
