AFTER being on the run for some time, one of the alleged masterminds behind the murder of Corentyne businessman, Lomenzo Jhonny, called “Sham” was, on Wednesday, arrested by police.
Daniel McLennon, called “Dutty” of Lot 153 Third Street, Rose Hall Town, was arrested by police on Wednesday morning at Laing Avenue, Georgetown, after they received information about his whereabouts. The police had issued a wanted bulletin for his arrest.

Jhonny, a father of three, was last seen alive on February 26 at around 19:30 hrs when he left for his usual evening jog.
His remains were discovered around 07:45hrs the following morning with his feet tied with a black lace, severe wounds to the head, injuries to his left eye and strangulation marks on his neck. Wounds were also seen on his back and bruises to the hands.
About four feet away from his body, a red and black sneakers, a pair of scissors and a piece of wood, about three feet in length, were found. After committing the act, the killer/s took the key to Johnny’s home and ransacked the premises and carried away a safe. Police subsequently found a .25 auto pistol with 28 live rounds of ammunition in a bedroom of the home.
Sleuths were able to recover some $2M on the suspects as well as the damaged safe in a trench aback the community of Williamsburg after the suspects in custody confessed to the robbery. According to information reaching Guyana Chronicle, the businessman recognised two of his assailants as he was being battered and left to die.
McLennon is believed to be the mastermind behind the crime in which he has also implicated four other men.
The four men are currently on remand for the murder of Jhonny.
On March 11, 2020, Navendra Narine, Gopaul Ramgobin, Satram Khuslay and Bilal Mc Lennon were jointly charged before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Number 51 Magistrate’s Court.
