CARL FERDRICKS, accused of simple larceny, was, on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, sentenced to 2 months in prison by Magistrate Annette Singh.
Ferdricks, on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’ Court and pleaded guilty to the charge, when it was read to him.
Particulars of the charge stated that, on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, on Regent Street and Orange Walk, Georgetown, Ferdricks stole one mountain bike valued at $21,000, property of Sheer Zuman.
When Ferdricks was given the opportunity to explain his act to the court by Magistrate McGusty, he mentioned that he and the virtual complainant were drinking and smoking cocaine at the time, when the victim requested that he purchased more cocaine. Ferdricks further mentioned that the victim lent him his bicycle to buy the item. However, on his way back from purchasing the cocaine and alcohol he was stopped and robbed. Ferdricks stated that he was also relieved of Zuman’s bicycle.
The victim then informed the court that he does not know Ferdricks.
After hearing the case, Magistrate McGusty proceeded to change Ferdricks’ plea to not guilty and ordered that he be remanded to prison. Magistrate McGusty then transferred the matter to court 11.
At court 11, Ferdricks appeared before Magistrate Annette Singh where he was sentenced to two months in prison.
