IN keeping with Operation “Safe Roads” and School Safety Patrol Guidelines, Police Corporal Sarwan Kumar and other ranks from the Charity Police Station Traffic Department, yesterday, visited the May Primary School, Essequibo Coast and distributed Road Safety Patrol Belts and Stop Signs.

One hundred and fifty pupils, along with eight teachers, benefitted from a practical demonstration on how they should properly use the Pedestrian crossing, since they will be assisting their peers to cross in a safe manner.

Additionally, the students were informed on the importance of using the roadway correctly, Kerb-drill, the significance of Pedestrian Crossing, playing on a roadway, use of pedal cycle and the wearing of light-coloured clothing at nights.

Also, a similar talk was conducted at C.V. Nunes Primary School by Corporal Andrew Ramkissoon and Lance Corporal Brian Persaud, where 457 pupils and 22 teachers benefitted from the topics mentioned above.
