WITH Friendship being the last remaining team from the Buxton environs still in the inaugural 592 Community Cup, an urgent call is being made for their supporters to flood the Buxton ground tonight.

Friendship, lone survivors, will look to exact revenge for sister team Buxton, when they face nemesis Paradise in the feature clash of semi-final action.

In the opening game, Golden Grove face BV and their aim will surely be to make the final which is set to be staged on their home turf on January 1.

Paradise, who dispatched Buxton on penalty kicks after equalising in the dying moments of regulation time to send the game into spot kicks, will try to take advantage of the mental edge they hold, following their quarter-final triumph.

Star player Quincy Adams, who was responsible for the miraculous comeback win once again, will hold the key to victory, while Teshawn Gordon and Tyreke Cummings are expected to lend critical support if they are to advance.

On the other hand, Friendship could use the loss of their counterparts as motivation to represent the community.

However, this will depend on how well players such as Clive Andries and Dillon Wright perform.

What is certain is that the Buxtonians will be aided by overwhelming support and definitely will use this to their advantage to engineer a win.

The Golden Grove versus BV affair is another exciting encounter and this too has the making of a virtual final.

Golden Grove, on whose ground the final is tentatively to be played, will want to be there at the end and will no doubt be inspired to produce a classy performance.

Former national player Dwain Jacobs will look to use his vast experience in these situations to orchestrate victory and his supporting cast of Quason McAulay, Seretse Huntley and Phillip Williams must play their part to guarantee a win.

BV’s pursuit of a place in the championship game will rest on the shoulders of Omari Glasgow, Reon Hopkinson, Akin Curry and Jemar Harrington, all players with immense talent and experience to make life uncomfortable for the Golden Grove unit.

It’s the Christmas season, known for good cheer and the Buxton community which has been welcoming all visitors with open arms will once again be expected to do so.

The tournament has been embraced by the residents along the East Coast Demerara corridor. They have displayed exemplary discipline to date, and with the final showdown just days away this element of goodwill is anticipated to continue.

Most of them expressed appreciation to organiser Eon Havercome and Ansa McAl under its 592 Beer brand. All the other sponsors were also recognised for their support as well.
