ANTI-narcotics police, led by a superintendent, on Saturday destroyed a cannabis farm at 18 Miles, Ituni trail, about four miles off the road.
Reports indicate that police discovered a five-acre farm with about 10,000 suspected marijuana plants ranging from six inches to eight feet in height with an estimated weight of 5600 kilograms.
Police also discovered an estimated five kilograms of dried suspected cannabis under a makeshift camp with accommodations for four persons.
The suspected cannabis farm and camp were destroyed by the cops. Earlier this week, another farm and camp were destroyed. These raids are part of an intensified effort by police to weed out cannabis production in Guyana.
