Several persons are now homeless following a fire at Spring Garden/Good Hope on the Essequibo Coast earlier this evening.

The incident occurred around 18:30 hours.

According to information reaching Guyana Chronicle,Silochanie Singh and her family journeyed to the West Coast Demerara to attend the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha motorcade earlier on Friday.Reports are that neighbours saw the house and fire and immediately raised and alarm.

“Everything went up in flames it looking like something was left on,” a resident said.

 Singh said she received a call about the fire and she was immediately devastated. She said she lived at the house with her three children.

The Guyana Fire Service is investigating the incident.
