ECCB/Elizabeth Styles competition continues tomorrow

THE next round of the East Coast Cricket Board (ECCB) Elizabeth Styles competition continues tomorrow.

Better-Hope Raptors will clash with Mon Repos Cricket Club (CC) (B) at Better Hope Community Centre, while at Buxton Community Centre ground, the hosts’ B team will play Golden Grove CC (B).

At Enterprise Community Centre ground, Enterprise ‘Busta’ CC (B) will host Lusignan Seafoods CC while at Golden Grove CC ground the hosts ‘A’ team will clash Enterprise ‘Busta’ CC (A).
In the latest round of matches, there were several upsets.
At Golden Grove Cricket ground, Golden Grove CC (B) hammered Mon Repos CC (B) to win by 127 runs.

Golden Grove CC won the toss and elected to bat, blasting 246 for 6 after the match was reduced to 30 overs.
Stephen Mangar top-scored with 47 runs (4×4). Claudius Fraser 36 runs (5×4, 1×6), Shavin Rutherford 34 runs (4×4, 1×6) and Mortimer King with a quick-fire 34 runs (3×4, 3×6), all assisted the scoreline.

Bowling for Mon Repos CC B, M. Samaroo’s 3 for 32, along with Ravindra Samaroo 3 for 20 were the lead figures.
Mon Repos CC were bowled out in the 20th over for 119 with Raghoo Ragnauth hitting 33 runs (6×4) and Vickash Jaikarran making 29 runs (2×4, 2×6).

Bowling for Golden Grove CC, Claudius Fraser ended with 2 22 and Orin Gardner 3-20.
At Better Hope Community Centre, Mon Repos CC (A) defeated Better-Hope (B) (BHCCB) in what could be described as a stunner, since BHCCB are former champions.

Mon Repos CC A won the toss and batted first as the match was reduced to 35 overs.
Manjrekar Bhola carefully stroked 42 (4×4, 1×6) while Roopnarine Singh made 24 (2×4, 1×6) as Mon Repos CC A were bowled out in the 30th over for 123.

Ravi Singh bowling left-arm spin captured 5-17 and Jayadev Mana 3-7 with some good off breaks.

Batting second, BHCCB were bundled out for 116 in the 19th over with the unplayable right-arm leg-spinner Navindra Kishun upsetting the host with figures of 6-19.
At Buxton Community Centre, Buxton ‘Carl Hooper’ CC A cruised to victory over Low-Land Sports Club (LSC).

Buxton CC A won the toss and invited LSC to bat in super cricket conditions.
LSC batting, with the match reduced to 35 overs, amassed 172 in 29.3 overs with Z. Khan blasting 45 (10×4).

Playing important roles were Andre Barry 32 (4×4, 1×6) and S. Dumainauth 23 (4×4, 1×6).
Bowling for BCCA were Rawle Fredericks 3-12 and Owen Andrews 3-36.
Buxton CC A replied with express speed arriving at 173 for 4 in the 17th over thanks to Anthony McFarlane 76 (5×4, 6×6), Owen Andrews 56 (9×4, 1×6) and Cylus Gibbons 20 (4×4).

Bowling for LSC, D. Rooplall bagged 3-35 and S. Dumainauth 1-36.
At Enterprise Community Centre, Enterprise ‘Busta’ Sports Club (A) (ESCA) made light work with Clonbrook Cricket Club (CCC) in a match reduced to 35 overs.

ESCA won the toss and elected to bat scoring 211 for 9 thanks to Rohan Mangal who stroked a brilliant 62 (7×4) with captain Parmanand Dindyal supporting him with a well-played 36 (3×4).

Bowling for CCC, R. Small bowled well with figures of 3×31.
In reply, CCC were bowled out in the 32nd over for 150. Small, this time with the bat, contributed 42 (5×4).
Bowling for ESCA, Chatterpaul Singh 4-32.
