BUDDY’S Gym bodybuilder, Darius Ramsammy, was satisfied with his opening performance when the Guyanese took to the stage in the Open Class Junior Category yesterday in the Dominican Republic at the 46th Central American and Caribbean Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships.

Ramsammy was the lone Guyanese contestant on the opening day and he finished seventh out of 10 competitors.

“To me, I did not do too badly, being that it was an open class and my first time at this level. So seventh out of 10 was not bad for me.”

The 22-year-old is optimistic about taking part in the U-154 pounds contest when the competition continues today.

Former CAC gold medallist and five-time Mr Guyana Kerwin Clarke; four-time Mr Guyana (Men’s Physique) Emmerson Campbell, who had previously won a silver and a bronze medal at CAC; and former Mr Guyana Men’s Physique winner Yannick Grimes are also representing the Golden Arrowhead.

All three Space Gym bodybuilders will compete today. Grimes and Campbell will pose off this morning, while Clarke would be in action this afternoon.
