ON Thursday, the three men who were allegedly involved in the America Street murder of money-changer, Shawn Nurse, called “Fabulous”, appeared before Principal Magistrate Judy
Latchman at the Providence Magistrates’ Courts.
Kerwin Dos Santos, George Hope, both 24, of Freeman Street La Penitence and Kacey Heyliger, aged 23, of Kitty, are all charged with the murder of Shawn Nurse and are currently on remand.
At Thursday’s hearing, the void dire continued and a caution statement was read on behalf of the number one accused, Kerwin Santos.
It is alleged that, on February 4, 2018, at America Street Georgetown, Shawn Nurse was murdered during the course or furtherance of a robbery.
Nurse, 47, of Apartment 33, Shopping Plaza, South Ruimveldt Georgetown, was shot during a struggle with a gunman who was attempting to relieve him of a large sum of foreign and local currencies.
Nurse was plying his trade when he met his demise.
Attorneys-at-Law Adrian Thompson and Collette Marks, who are representing the accused, were present at Thursday’s hearing.
Magistrate Latchman adjourned the matter for August 15, 2019, at 13:30 hours
The Trial began in 2018.
