GUYANA’S National Under-19 team departed yesterday for the West Indies Rising Stars U-19 tournament in St Vincent.

Title-holders for five consecutive years, the Guyana are scheduled to compete against the Windwards in the first of five rounds on July 28 at 09:30hrs at Arnos Vale.

The squad will be accompanied by Julian Moore, coach, and Andy Ramnarine as assistant coach and manager.

The team includes Ashmead Nedd (captain), Kevlon Anderson (vice-captain), Alex Algoo, Sachin Singh, Garfield Benjamin, Alphius Bookie, Seon Glasgow, Adrian Hinds, Daniel Mootoo, Kevin Umroa, Joel Spooner, Qumar Torrington, Leon Swamy and Junior Sinclair.

GCB secretary Anand Sanasie met with the squad prior departure where he expressed his confidence for them, as they prepare to collect yet another victory under their belts.
