A 22-year-old labourer was on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for the murder of 21-year-old Patrick Matthew Fraser, called ‘White boy.’

Kevin Rose of Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was not required to plead to the charge.

It is alleged that on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Norton Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara, Rose, while being in the company of others, murdered Fraser during the course or furtherance of a robbery.

Rose was represented by Attorneys-at-Law Nigel Hughes and Everton Singh-Lammy.
Police Inspector Neville Jeffers, who is prosecuting the case, told the court that the police investigation is still incomplete, while a second suspect is being sought by investigators.

The chief magistrate remanded Rose to prison until June 4, 2019, and transferred the matter to Principal Magistrate, Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, for report and fixture.

Patrick Fraser, called ‘White Boy,’ was gunned down at Norton Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara (EBD) on May, 9, 2019; he was reportedly shot in the foot and abdomen. Reports indicate that the men implicated in the murder are known to ‘White Boy.’

Initially, the police had stated that although the young man was shot twice, they retrieved from the scene, only one .32 spent shell and one warhead, along with a pair of slippers and a blood-stained Polo hat.
