Missing: Chandramohan Ishmael

A BERBICE family is frantically searching for 68-year-old Chandramohan Ishmael called “Lionel” of Yakasari, South Black Bush Polder, who has been missing since Thursday, May 9.

According to the man’s sister, Golden Ishmael, her brother left to visit another village in the farming community to handle a property-related matter, when he disappeared.

Now the family is appealing to the public to help them locate the elderly farmer and have him safely reunited with his family.

“We are begging if anybody see him to call us and keep him safe and we will come for him,” his distraught sister pleaded.

Their many searches proved futile. A police report was made but so far there has been no trace of Chandramohan.

“We get the message that he is missing two days after and we went with his children to search for him all over the Savannah and they didn’t find him, but people say he is around because he is talking to people, asking them for some water to drink and a cigarette to smoke and then he move on and still we can’t find him,” Ishmael said.

Lionel, the youngest brother of seven siblings, lives at his Black Bush Polder home.

His sister has made a passionate plea for his safe return.

“Please come home back because your children and family miss you and crying to see you back and everybody overseas all stressing about you,” she said.

The family is asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them on telephone numbers 615-1050 or 337-2285 or the nearest police station.
