AMBASSADOR of the United States of America to Guyana, Sarah-Ann Lynch, congratulated newly-appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Karen Cummings, on her appointment, during a courtesy call on Thursday.

Dr. Cummings was sworn in on May 2, 2019, replacing her former National Assembly colleague, Carl Greenidge, following his resignation, in accordance with the Constitution as it relates to a dual citizenship holder.

A release from the Ministry stated that, during the meeting, Ambassador Lynch discussed with the Minister areas of on-going cooperation and of mutual interest.

Guyana and the United States have continued to maintain a high level of bilateral cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations on August 15, 1966.
