Police probe abuse claims at Parika station

THE Guyana Police Force said it is investigating a report of alleged abuse meted out to a woman by a rank at the Parika Police Station, East Bank Essequibo.

In a statement, police said through the Commander of ‘D’ Division, Senior Superintendent Edmond Cooper, an investigation has been launched following an article published in Tuesday’s Edition of the Kaieteur News under the caption “Woman alleges physical abuse by rank at Parika Police Station – claims rank instructed her to spank his buttocks”.
