A 35-year-old businesswoman has been arrested after a bag she tossed out of a window on seeing a group of policemen was found to contain cannabis.

According to a release, cops acting on information went to a shop in Vigilance South, East Coast Demerara to conduct a search, and on arrival, a female who saw them quickly disposed of a parcel through one of the shop’s windows.

The parcel was retrieved and found to contain a quantity of cannabis.
The woman was promptly arrested, and is being processed for court. The prohibited substance, when weighed, amounted to 120 grams.
