GANESH Parts and General Store has come to the rescue of the Guyana Rugby Football Union with a donation of training balls.
Handing over on the BKT-sponsored balls on behalf of the company was Sales Manager, Suresh Rampersaud, in the presence of Chief Executive Officer Chatram (Roop) Persaud.
In receiving the balls, president of the GRFU, Peter Green, and Public Relations Officer Esan Griffith commended the company for coming on board at an important time.
According to CEO Persaud, his company’s donation is just one way of giving back to society and the development of sports in the country.
He challenged the union to produce in two months’ time and his company will continue to donate to the sport’s wellbeing
Green stated that GRFU is grateful for the donation which is a timely presentation.
The union will soon embark on its Youth Development Programme around the country and the balls will be utilised meaningfully in that programme.
GRFU is expected to launch its U-19 league and women’s 7 tournament this month end while the National men’s team will be in training for their international tournament against Guadeloupe at the end of this month.
Guyana is scheduled to host debutants Guadeloupe on April 27 in the RAN South Zone Championships final, with the winner playing Bermuda for overall championship honours.
The winners will also earn the right to play the losers of the Mexico vs Cayman Islands game in the latter half of the year, for promotion into the Americas Challenge Championships.
