THIRTY-three-year-old Canadice Edward of 16 Old Road, Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara on Monday appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Providence Magistrate’s Court charged with assaulting Patrina DeGroot, also of the same village.
Edward pleaded not guilty to the charge. It is alleged that on March 7 2019, Edward assaulted DeGroot at Land of Canaan Old Road, East Bank Demerara.

Edward was placed on $20, 000 bail and will return to the Providence Magistrate’s Court on March 18, 2019. Meanwhile, Sharon Edward also pleaded not guilty to assaulting Mary Hamilton of Lot 10, Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara. The businesswoman was placed on $40, 000 bail and will also return to the Providence Magistrate’s Court on March 18, 2019.
