AN Anna Regina family woke up Valentine morning only to discover that their 110 Belle Street, Anna Regina, Region Two home was burglarised.
One of the occupants, Bibi Noojahan, said she woke up at around 05:00hrs and went to check for a clip in her handbag, but the bag was nowhere to be seen.
She raised an alert and her son, Nixon Bharahally, made a detailed check around the house. He then discovered that his laptop and his hard drives were missing. A total of $400,000 worth of items was stolen.
According to Bibi, the thieves gained entry to the house from a window after breaking a padlock and removing wooden bars from a window.
Several foot tracks were present in the family’s yard. The bag, which belonging to Bibi, had a total of $15,000 in cash and $20,000 worth in cosmetics.
A report was made to the Anna Regina Police Station. No one has been arrested as police continue their investigation.
