GRFU name ‘Green Machine’ squad for RAN 15’s Southern Championships Qualifiers

THE Green Machine, Guyana’s National Rugby team and the Cayman Islands will play each other for the Rugby Americas North (RAN) 15’s title in Georgetown on February 9, and as such, after weeks of training, the selectors have named 23 players with the aim of bringing the trophy to the Land of Many Waters.

Jamal Angus was named as captain of the Kenneth Grant-Stuart-coached unit which will also include two new players in David Garnett and Glenroy Poole. Selwyn Henry, James Osborne and Jamal Darrell, who made their 15’s debut in Colombia last year, all retained their places in the team.

Selected players are: Jason Tyrell, Rondel Mc Arthur, Walter George, Richard Staglon, James Osborne, Joseph Rahaman, Vallon Adams, Selwyn Henry, Jamal Augus (Captain), Godrey Broomes, Cloyd Prowell, Osei McKenzie, David Garnett, Glenroy Poole, Lancelot Adonis, Jamal Darrell, Kevin David, Sean Phillips, Ryan Dey, Phibain Joseph, Ryan Gonsalves, Ronald Mayers and Grantly Adams.

 Coaching staff are: Kenneth Grant-Stuart (Head Coach), Solomon Austin (Manager) and Barrington Brown (Physiotherapist).
