AURORA Knightriders registered a 60-run win over the Mashabo Tigers to claim the Community Cup.

The two Essequibo teams battled at the Mashabo Cricket ground last Sunday in a Twenty20 cricket contest organised by the host team.
Led by Ravi Beharry with the bat and Reshad Ally with the ball, the visitors were able to wrest control of the game in front of a packed and colourful crowd, which included the village captain and other community leaders.

The Knightriders won the toss and batted first. Led by Beharry with 73, Dellon De Costa with an aggressive 44 (2×4, 5×6) and skipper Timur Gafoor with 38, the visitors were able to score 187-4 from their allotted overs.

The consistent Beharry and Gafoor put together a solid 90-run second-wicket partnership, while De Costa and G. Ramdhanie (18) chalked up a quick-fire 56.
Orlando Abrams claimed 2-38, while Melvern Adams and Trenton Daniels finished with a wicket each.

The home team got off to a positive start of 28, before Ally with his off-spin bowling removed both openers in the 5th over.
The Tigers did play a few shots, but Ally claimed three more wickets and Beharry a pair, to restrict the Mashabo cricketers for 128 in 17.3 overs.
Eventual Man-of-the-Match Ally claimed 5-19, Beharry 2-32 and Gafoor 2-20.
