Man remanded for string of recent robbery offences

Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded a 23-year-old labourer to prison for three armed robbery charges.

Sean Goodluck denied the three charges when it was read to him while his attorney, Clyde Forde made an application for reasonable bail.

The first charge alleged that on January 9, 2019 at New Market Street, East Ruimveldt, Goodluck while being in the company of others and armed with guns, robbed Tash Moe of a cellphone valued at $70,000 along with $10,000 cash and $70,000 cash property of Massy Distribution.

The second charge states that on January 5, 2019 at Lot 39 Broad Street, Georgetown,  Goodluck while being in the company of others and armed with guns, he robbed Shazeer Blackett of a $600,000 gold chain.

The third charge alleged that Goodluck on January 4, 2019 at Trench Road, Mandela Avenue he robbed Devon Florimonte of a gold chain valued $75,000.

Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh  objected to Goodluck being granted his pretrial liberty on the grounds that the accused is wanted by the police for similar crimes.

Magistrate Daly ruled in the prosecution’s favor and remanded Goodluck to prison until March 1, 2019.
