– Exciting final day anticipated today

AN exciting climax to the Third Edition of the East Bank Football Association / Ralph Green sponsored Under-11 League is anticipated tomorrow, when the final three matches are contested at the Diamond Community Centre Ground.

With Grove Hi Tech assured of the second place having completed their quota of 11 matches and ending on 29 points, Timehri Panthers with a game to go against Friendship All Stars can win the league is they take full points.

They are currently on 27 points following their 4-0 triumph against Diamond Upsetters yesterday at the same venue. The battle for the 3rd and 4th places will be decided in the final match of the league when Swan FC takes on Agricola Red Triangle which won the league for the first two years.

Both teams are on 25 points and separated by goal difference, Agricola +30 to Swan’s +28 which mean a win for either side will see them ending 3rd and the loser, 4th.

Today’s opening game brings together Diamond United and Samatta Point/Kaneville. Yesterday’s lone match contested saw Timehri inching closer to the title when they got past Diamond Upsetters 4-0 on account of goals from Shaquelle Caleb in the 3rd minute, Captain and the league’s leading goal scorer Omar Sam (22) in the 5th minute, Josiah Williams (25th) and Keron Williams in the 26th minute.

Samatta Point/Kaneville pocketed three points with a walk over from Herstelling Raiders with Agricola Red Triangle also winning via the same route on account of the absence of Friendship All Stars. Kuru Kururu Warriors and Mocha Champs failed to show up for their match.

Kick off time is 09:00hrs with the presentation of prizes following the final match. The top four teams would be rewarded with replicas (1st & 2nd) and medals (3rd & 4th).

The Most Valuable Player, Best Goalkeeper, Highest Goal Scorer, Most Promising Player and Most Disciplined Player will each collect a Trophy and Backpack while the Best Coach would also be rewarded.
