A FISHERMAN was on Friday remanded to prison until next Friday by senior Magistrate Leron Daly for stealing a cellphone.

The charge alleges that on October 16, 2018, at Georgetown, Kevin Cumberbatch stole one cellphone valued at $53,000, property of Wallet Ruby.

Twenty-seven year-old Cumberbatch, who resides at Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, denied the charge, while Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail because the defendant may be a flight risk;he has no fixed place of abode.
