KELVIN Royston Daly, who was killed in the Puruni area (Region Seven,Cuyuni-Mazaruni) was chopped 42 times about the body, an autopsy conducted on Wednesday has confirmed.

Daly, a father of six, was said to have been killed between Sunday night and Monday morning.

The man’s cause of death was also given as shock and haemorrhage. Relatives who spoke with this newspaper on Monday said that they were informed that the man was attacked by four men who unleashed a most brutal attack on him by chopping him about the body.
There was no reason given as to why anyone would want to hurt the man, but according to his relatives, he did not have any enemy in the interior location where he worked. He had been working there for the past eight months and was slated to travel out some two weeks ago; he however had opted to remain and try to make some extra money. An investigation is underway, as the police seek to capture the perpetrators.
