Serial robber nabbed in East La Penitence

A 21-YEAR-OLD who was allegedly involved in numerous robberies and an attempted murder on the East Coast of Demerara, was on Monday night captured in Georgetown.
Teron Douglas was caught after he reportedly attempted to rob a group of friends who were hanging out in a community shop in East La Penitence.

Douglas, who was armed with a revolver and 16 matching rounds, was overpowered by his victims when he attempted to rob one of them of a gold chain valued more than $120,000.
Police sources told the Guyana Chronicle, that the alleged serial robber who hails from Triumph, on the East Coast of Demerara, demanded that one of the gentlemen hand over the valuables he had in his possession, including his gold chain.

The man hesitated, Douglas reached for the chain and a scuffle ensued and he (Douglas) was overpowered and received a trashing. When the police arrived, he was handcuffed and taken into police custody. One spent shell was recovered from the scene.

Meanwhile, some of the people allegedly robbed by Douglas are David Foster, 41, a refrigeration technician of Lot 196 Lamaha Springs in the Joint Service Scheme and Dwayne Vyphius, 37, of Freeman Street, East La Penitence.
