On Monday, Eon Archibald, 43, of East La Penitence, stood before Justice Sandil Kissoon to face charges for two alternative counts.

State Prosecutor Narissa Leander, presented the indictment before the court which states that for the first count; on June 4th 2015, in the county of Demerara, Archibald attempted to murder Dwayne Anthony Morris called ‘Country’ or in the alternative, wounded Morris, with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, maim, disable, or disfigure him.

The unrepresented man, who has been on bail since 2015, stood in the prisoner’s bar and pleaded not guilty to both counts.

He indicated to the judge that he will lead his own defence throughout the trial.
The judge then proceeded to adjourn the commencement of the trial for Wednesday September 26, 2018.
