WILSON Toledo, the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) newly appointed Coaching Education Director, hit the ground running to assume his appointment last Sunday, when soon after his arrival in Guyana he was on hand to kick off the third match of the GFA-IMC STAG Beer Revival Cup at the GFC ground.

Toledo’s arrival came on the heels of his stint with the senior national team during the ‘Train and Play’ camp held in Brazil in preparation for the Golden Jaguars’ first match of the CONCACAF Nations League next Thursday, September 6 at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.

The Brazilian national has already begun the groundwork necessary to fulfil his one-year assignment in Guyana by visiting the senior and youth tournaments of the GFA-IMC – the STAG Revival Cup and the Pele Alumni ‘Frank Watson’ U-15 Tournament to observe the talent on display.

Over the next weeks, he is scheduled to meet with the coaches of the Elite clubs and interact with the member associations. The veteran coach looks forward to the challenge of improving football in Guyana.
