TORONTO, Canada —Jaguars made light work of Kaieteur to cart off last Saturday’s All Stars game, played at the Ashtonbee ground, Scarborough.

The feature was part of the Ontario Softball Cricket League (OSCL) annual Family Day which attracted several children of members of the association and also saw the finals of the Caribbean Sensation- sponsored 10/10 tournament.

Set 129 for victory, after restricting their opponents to 128 for four in the 15-over affair, Kaieteur were 109 for eight when their overs expired, going down by 19 runs. The top scorers were Lloyd Ruplall, who struck a six and a four in his 23 while his Guyana Floodlights Cricket Association (GFSCA) counterpart, Ramo Malone, was run out for 16.
Another GFSCA player, Uniss Yusuf, who represented Jaguars, had the amazing figures of three for two, bowling the final over of the innings.

Earlier, Jaguars were led to the challenging total through knocks of 26 from former Guyana Under-19 player Ravendra Mandolall and 24 from Reyaz Prahalad, with both players opting to retire in order to give other batters a chance.

Yusuf (Jaguars) and Ruplall (Kaieteur) were named the Most Valuable Players.
All the players and officials, including managers– Vish Jadunauth (Jaguars) and Frederick Halley (Kaieteur)–were recipients of medals.

Meanwhile, the OSCL annual presentation, dinner and dance is set for Saturday, November 24 at Eastown Banquet Hall, Scarborough. (Frederick Halley)
