SENGAALI Red Ants will throw down the gauntlet to three other teams when the second annual Penalty Spot Sports Pub Cook-Up competition is held today.

The other participating teams are Selective Cuts and Cuisine, Powerhouse Cooking and Ultra Graphix.

The competition, which is being held to celebrate Emancipation Day, will see each team being given two hours to prepare and cook the dish. Thereafter a panel of four selected to judge the event will decide on a winner. According to the coordinator of the event, Mark `Real’ Young, each team has been furnished with rules and is required to use a coal pot.
“Everything will be done right at the corner of Sixth and Albert Streets in Alberttown and each team will have two hours. Match time is 11 am the participating teams are all required to down tools at 1 pm sharp,” Young said. The Trophy Stall has donated the first place trophy, Party Plus Party Store the second place trophy, and Khalsan PR Inc. provided the trophy for the team placing third.
