Success labourer for court today

…faces charges for assaulting wife, relatives

A THIRTY-SIX-YEAR-OLD labourer of Success South Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara (ECD) is expected to be charged today for allegedly wounding his reputed wife, niece and mother-in-law on Saturday morning.

According to a press statement from the police, the victims have all been treated and discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

Police investigations revealed that the suspect and one of the victims, Tiffany McBeth, 19, with whom he shared a common-law relationship, lived at the aforementioned address.
It was reported that a few days ago Tiffany’s mother Lorraine McBeth, 64, a housewife of 56 Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara (EBD), visited them to spend a few days. Lorraine was accompanied by her four-year-old granddaughter, Nathania Browne.

The police said everything went well until early Saturday morning when the suspect suddenly awoke and began choking the infant.

The other victims, in the process of restraining the suspect, were themselves attacked and repeatedly stabbed with a kitchen knife about their bodies by the suspect, who subsequently fled the scene.

No just reason for the suspect’s aggressive behaviour was given. After he fled the scene, the victims called officers who rushed them to the hospital.
