POLICE on the East Coast and Georgetown have arrested two suspects and recovered a quantity of stolen items, including a car, during separate operations.
Police said acting on information via a 911 call, ranks visited a house at Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, where a Toyota Premio was seized and a man was arrested for an alleged hit and run accident recently.
The vehicle was taken to the Sparendam Police Station for inspection.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, ranks found a man hiding under his bed in James Street, Albouystown, after he was wanted in connection with selling stolen property to persons in the area and in South Ruimveldt. He was arrested and some of the stolen items were recovered and are in police custody.
Also on Thursday, acting on information, police recovered a stolen Toyota motorcar at Durban Backlands after the owner claimed he was robbed on July 23 by four men in Sophia, Georgetown. The owner was contacted and the vehicle was positively identified as the one stolen.
