THE body of 10-year-old Timothy Yearwood was founding floating next to the Buxton Pump Station, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Thursday.

Yearwood and his 14-year-old cousin Timothy Robinson, both of Unity, Mahaica, went missing after they went for a swim at the seawall, close to an area which is popularly known as “the Grind”.

While Robison’s body was discovered by police on Tuesday in the vicinity of Hope seashore, ECD, the body of Yearwood was found by relatives at Buxton on Thursday morning.
Yearwood’s mother, Norma Singh was in tears as she attempted to recount what happened on Monday.

“I left for work on Monday and leff he home but I know normally he does go play with he cousin…while I deh at work I get a call that the boys missing so I rushed home and hear that they went for a swim by the Grind and never come back,” said Singh.
The mother of four went on to say that neither her son nor his cousin know how to swim so it was odd that they went into the water.

She admitted that they would go play with friends in the area but they would never go in the water.
Yearwood, who was a student of the Gibson Primary, was remembered by his mother as a studious child who knew how to mix school and play.

His cousin, Robinson was also remembered by his teacher and sister as a child who always excelled at his studies.
“You know the strange thing is that his father, Claude Robinson who was a fisherman went missing at sea during the same month and on a Monday, eleven years ago,” said Robinson’s sister.

The family now has to mourn for young Robinson during the same

month that his dad went missing without a trace.
Robinson’s sister who was at a loss for words, urged persons to keep a close eye on their children because “children will be children”.
