Linden murder accused nabbed in Berbice

ACTING on intelligence, ranks of ‘B’ Division on Thursday arrested murder accused, 34 year old Corwyn Arthur called ‘Cross Eye’ at a house in Blairmont, West Coast Berbice.

Arthur was on the run for seven days after he allegedly stabbed 40-year-old, Claude DeJonge called ‘Sonno’ of Mackenzie Linden on May 10, 2018. He immediately made good his escape after reportedly stabbing DeJounge three times to his shoulder, neck and abdomen.

The stabbing occurred after DeJounge asked Arthur to leave the premises of a woman, 35 years old Tanya Samuels, with whom they both shared a relationship.

While on the run, he was calling relatives and friends expressing his remorse for the act he allegedly committed. After committing the act, he told Samuels that he would have committed suicide by drinking poison.

Arthur is a known questionable character in Linden who has been incarcerated for alleged rape and larceny.
