Thieves raid Parika store
A Parika , East Bank Essequibo (EBE) businessman is frustrated that police ranks in the area are  dragging their feet after thieves broke into his store and carted off millions in appliances and groceries on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred at Lot 128 Parika , EBE.
According to businessman Bhari Harrnarine , although reports were made to the Parika Police Station shortly after the incident , no one has contacted the family or visited the scene.
The family operates another business at Bartica and reports are that they received a call from a neighbour who informed that their business place , N and J Retail and Wholesale Depot, was broken into. The businessman said when checks were made several generators, pressure washers and blenders were among the appliances which the intruders took along with a quantity grocery. Harrinarine said that the grill work from both the front and back of the premises were pried open by the vandals.
One of the blenders that was stolen was seen a short distance away along the roadway.The businessman said that the thieves had enough time to drink packets of juice and they also consumed several tins of sausage.
He said that the thieves also broke into a bond at the place of business, as he called on the police to investigate the matter. (Indrawattie Natram)
