Piracy attack survivor’s wife dies suddenly

The reputed wife of Sherwin Lovell , the rescued survivor of the barbaric pirate attack  last weekend,passed away suddenly on Sunday  morning reportedly after becoming ill following the attack.

Barely able to console himself, Lovell related to the Guyana Chronicle that after the news of the piracy attack broke, his reputed wife Michelle Carol became ill suddenly.

“After this whole pirate attack happen and like she hear I dead she tek on and she stress out she self and she had to go to the doctor and get treatment. When I come home and she know I alive she still sick bad,” the distraught 33-year old man related during an interview at his home in Palomina Straat,Paramaribo.
As he sat staring at an album of pictures of his late wife, the teary eyed man said he really loved his wife  and despite living together for just a short period of time their love was real as he reminisced .
The distraught man said that it is because of the love and bond that the two  shared , that he know he could not stay in the hospital despite being advised to by doctors to  remain  for at least three days to recuperate .
 “ You know when you love somebody you just can’t leave them like that so I come home and try to take care of her, I make soup and them things but she ain’t able eat it and this morning when I mek tea to give her and she just gone,” he said.
He said  since he was discharged from the hospital , he had not slept a full night since his hand is in pain.
The emotional man is heartbroken as he is desperately trying to make contact with her relatives from Mocha Arcadia , East Bank Demerara where she is from originally . He pleaded with Guyana Chronicle to inform her relatives of her passing.

“I can’t work I don’t really have anything and now my wife die… I don’t know how I gun able carry she body home and how I reaching home I really need help,” he saidas he pleaded for assistance.
Lovell , who was rescued on Thursday after walking through swamp for several days , said he has been fishing for over 10 years and is originally from Craig Village on the East Bank of Demerara but has been residing in Suriname for several years now. He said he is done with the sea and fishing and vows to never return after his experience last weekend , one which has left him physically and emotionally scarred for life.
Due to the death of his wife Lovell was unable to meet with Minister of Public Security , Khemraj  Ramjattan who met with the relatives of the other fishermen on Sunday.
