A 25-YEAR-OLD man was Thursday sentenced to three years in prison by Magistrate Judy Latchman for possession of narcotics.

It is alleged that on May 1, 2018 at 4-Mile Kaituma, Ravidave Mohan had in his possession 25 grammes of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
The miner pleaded guilty to the charge.

According to records presented by police prosecutor, on the day in question Police ranks stopped him while he was in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) HC 7328. They conducted a search and the ganja was discovered in a brown hoodie.
Mohan was also fined $30,000 by Magistrate Judy Latchman.
