DESMOND Daniels, 42, a farmer and resident of Friendship Canal, Lower Pomeroon River, Region Two, is in police custody after he allegedly stabbed his brother in a drunken brawl on Saturday.

His brother Mark Lyne Daniels, 55, who suffered a stab wound to the back, is a patient at the Charity Oscar Joseph District Hospital.

According to information reaching the Guyana Chronicle, around 14:30hrs on Saturday, the two were imbibing at Friendship Canal when a heated argument started between them, during which Desmond stabbed Mark.

It is unclear what may have started the argument. Persons who were around assisted the injured Daniels to the hospital. The police are continuing their investigation.

Only recently Naresh Ramdass, 36, lost his life at the hands of his uncle. Ramdass was stabbed to the chest during an argument with his uncle on April 22. The uncle remains in custody pending charges.
